Shipping: how fast & how it works

Free standard shipping on every US order — no shipping charges at checkout, no hidden fees, and every shipment is insured against loss or damage.

Processing: 1–2 business days. Order before 12:00 PM EST and processing begins the same day.
Delivery: 4–7 business days via USPS, UPS or FedEx. Tracking is emailed the moment your order ships.
Large items (solar kits, batteries, shelters): delivered by LTL freight carriers such as FedEx Freight, Old Dominion or XPO. The carrier calls ahead to schedule a delivery window — please inspect the pallet and note any damage on the delivery receipt before signing, and we’ll take care of the rest.

What is your Return Policy?

At OffGrid Horizon, we want every customer to shop with confidence. If something doesn’t go as planned, we’ve made returns and refunds simple and fair. Here’s how it works:

1. Return Window

You can request a return within 30 days of receiving your order. Unfortunately, we’re unable to accept returns after that time frame.

2. Who Pays for Return Shipping?

If your item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, we’ll cover the return shipping cost — and you’ll receive a full 100% refund or replacement, including any original shipping costs.
If you’re returning an item because you changed your mind, you’ll be responsible for return shipping, and a 25% restocking fee applies.

3. Damaged or Defective Items

Received something broken or not working properly? Contact us within 30 days. We’ll provide a prepaid return label and once the item is returned and inspected, we’ll issue either a full refund or a replacement.

4. Changed Your Mind?

If you no longer want the item, you can return it within 30 days — as long as it’s unused, unopened, in its original packaging, and in resellable condition.

5. Refund Processing

Once we receive and approve your return, we’ll send a confirmation email and issue a refund to your original payment method within 7 business days. Please allow additional time for banks or credit card companies to process and reflect the refund.

Product Description

MF Fire Nova fireboxes ship without a base, and the 9" leg kit is the practical favorite: it puts the firebox at the easiest loading height of the three leg kits and needs only a simple ember-only hearth pad. It fits both the Nova C and Nova 2X in freestanding installations — a good match for anyone who loads the stove several times a day.

Key Features

Fits both Nova fireboxes. One kit works with the Nova C and the Nova 2X, in freestanding configuration only.
Easiest loading height. The tallest of the three Nova leg kits, so you bend less every time you feed the fire or clean out ash.
Simplest hearth pad. With 9" legs, MF Fire's manuals require only a UL 1618 listed Type 1 ember-only pad — no thermal rating needed, with or without the ash lip.
No add-ons required to qualify. Unlike the 6" kit, the ember-only pad allowance does not depend on fitting a cast iron ash lip.
A taller presence in the room. Lifts the fire higher into view without going to a full tower base.

Choosing Your Base

Choose the 9" kit when everyday convenience matters: easiest loading, simplest pad. Go the other way — the 3" kit — if you want the lowest, most traditional profile and can accommodate a Type 2 thermal hearth pad; the 6" kit sits in between. If you would also like built-in wood storage and the fire raised closer to eye level, compare the Nova C Tower and Nova 2X Tower. The Nova Series Bench adds hearth seating and storage and fits either firebox.

OffGrid Horizon is a family-owned, authorized MF Fire dealer. Register your MF Fire products to activate factory coverage — the stove's firebox welds carry MF Fire's Limited Lifetime warranty (defined as up to 7 years). Frequently Asked Questions

Will this kit fit both the Nova C and the Nova 2X?

Yes. One 9" kit fits either firebox in a freestanding installation. Insert installations use the Nova C or Nova 2X insert surround instead of legs.

What hearth pad do I need?

A UL 1618 listed Type 1 ember-only pad — the simplest and typically least expensive class of hearth pad. Shorter leg kits carry stricter requirements, so the 9" kit often pays for part of itself in pad savings.

How tall will the finished stove be?

For reference, a Nova C on 3" legs is 24" overall and a Nova 2X is 26.5"; the 9" kit raises those heights accordingly. Call us if you are working around a mantel or window sill and we will confirm the number.

What else do I need to complete the stove?

The firebox — Nova C or Nova 2X, sold separately — plus your ember pad and venting installed per the MF Fire manual. Popular additions include the freestanding room blower fan and the cast iron ash lip (Nova C / Nova 2X).

Can Nova stoves go in a mobile home?

No. Nova stoves are UL 1482 safety listed but are not approved for mobile home installation.
