Product Description

The Newport Explorer is Dickinson's direct-vent propane fireplace for RVs, cabins and boats. It puts 3,200 to 4,700 BTU of adjustable heat into a small space, with a real flame behind ceramic glass, push-button ignition and a built-in blower. Combustion is sealed off from the living space: it draws air from outside and vents outside.

Key Features

  • 3,200–4,700 BTU variable output – turn it down for a mild night or up for a cold one (Dickinson rating)
  • Direct vent – sealed combustion draws air from outside and exhausts outside; Dickinson states there is no risk of interior oxygen depletion
  • Built-in blower – moves warm air into the space faster
  • Real flame view – large ceramic glass window with a safety screen
  • Steady in motion and wind – Dickinson rates the burner as unaffected by boat motion or wind
  • 304 stainless steel – stainless burner and body
  • Chimney included – stainless backing plate, 28 in of flexible double stainless chimney and a deck fitting cap come in the box
  • Push-button ignition – no matches needed
  • Thermally isolated body – Dickinson designs the exterior to prevent contact burns
  • Rated to 5,000 ft elevation

Installation

The heater mounts to a wall on its stainless backing plate, and the included flexible double chimney runs to the deck fitting cap. You will need a propane hose, an 11-inch water column regulator and fittings to connect your propane supply; these are sold separately. Dickinson's installation and operating manual covers clearances and chimney routing, and we recommend a qualified gas or marine technician for the connection. A chimney guard is required for installation and is sold separately.
