Product Description

The BigBattery 24V HUSKY 2 INV delivers 5.12 kWh of LiFePO4 storage — 200Ah at 24V — in a single battery built for RV, off-grid, and marine systems. The INV designation is BigBattery's inverter-communications version: CANBus/RS485 ports let the battery share data with compatible inverter systems for coordinated charging and monitoring. OffGrid Horizon is a family-owned authorized BigBattery partner serving customers across the US.

Who This Is For

A 24V bank moves the same power as 12V at half the current, which means thinner cabling and less voltage drop. That makes this battery a fit for larger RVs (BigBattery lists Class A, B, and C RVs), boats, and small off-grid homes running 24V electrical systems — or builders stepping up from 12V to support a larger inverter. Per BigBattery, the INV communications are designed for 24V Victron inverter systems; in other 24V setups it operates as a standard high-capacity LiFePO4 battery.

12V vs 24V vs 48V — Picking the Right HUSKY

All three HUSKY 2 INV models store the same 5.12 kWh; the difference is system voltage. Choose this 24V model when your electrical system and charge sources are already 24V, or when you want lower current than 12V without rebuilding around a 48V inverter. If your appliances and chargers are 12V, the 12V HUSKY 2 INV (400Ah) is the simpler drop-in; if you are designing around a modern 48V off-grid inverter, look at the 48V HUSKY 2 INV (100Ah).

Installation

Mount the battery in a dry, ventilated compartment, with cabling and fusing rated for up to 200A of continuous draw. Set chargers and solar controllers to a LiFePO4 profile, and follow BigBattery's manual for communication wiring to a compatible inverter. For marine installations and RV chassis wiring, we recommend a qualified installer working to applicable standards such as ABYC.

Warranty & Support

Per BigBattery, the HUSKY 2 INV carries a 12-Year Warranty with Lifetime USA-Based Tech Support. As a family-owned authorized BigBattery partner, OffGrid Horizon can help with registration, troubleshooting, and claims. Returns require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) — contact us before shipping anything back. Call (302) 496-3554.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does INV mean?

It is BigBattery's inverter-communications version of the HUSKY 2. CANBus/RS485 ports let the battery report data to compatible inverter systems for closed-loop charging and monitoring.

Which inverters does it communicate with?

BigBattery lists compatibility with 24V Victron inverter systems via communication protocols. With other equipment it works as a standard 24V LiFePO4 battery, without communications.

Why choose 24V over 12V?

The same wattage at half the current: smaller-gauge cable, less resistive loss, and a better match for mid-size inverters. If your existing loads are 12V, staying at 12V avoids converters.

Can it charge below freezing?

Per BigBattery, the battery includes a self-heating function and publishes a charge range of -4°F to 113°F. Follow the manual's cold-weather guidance.

How large an inverter can I pair with it?

Per BigBattery, max continuous power is 5,120W (200A continuous). Size the inverter so its battery-side draw stays within that rating, and confirm against your inverter's specifications.

Can I add more batteries later?

Yes — per BigBattery, up to 16 HUSKY 2 units can be connected in parallel.

Is it suitable for boats?

BigBattery positions the HUSKY 2 for marine systems and rates the enclosure IP65 / NEMA 4X. It is not intended for submersion; have marine wiring performed by a qualified installer.
