Shipping: how fast & how it works

Free standard shipping on every US order — no shipping charges at checkout, no hidden fees, and every shipment is insured against loss or damage.

Processing: 1–2 business days. Order before 12:00 PM EST and processing begins the same day.
Delivery: 4–7 business days via USPS, UPS or FedEx. Tracking is emailed the moment your order ships.
Large items (solar kits, batteries, shelters): delivered by LTL freight carriers such as FedEx Freight, Old Dominion or XPO. The carrier calls ahead to schedule a delivery window — please inspect the pallet and note any damage on the delivery receipt before signing, and we’ll take care of the rest.

What is your Return Policy?

At OffGrid Horizon, we want every customer to shop with confidence. If something doesn’t go as planned, we’ve made returns and refunds simple and fair. Here’s how it works:

1. Return Window

You can request a return within 30 days of receiving your order. Unfortunately, we’re unable to accept returns after that time frame.

2. Who Pays for Return Shipping?

If your item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, we’ll cover the return shipping cost — and you’ll receive a full 100% refund or replacement, including any original shipping costs.
If you’re returning an item because you changed your mind, you’ll be responsible for return shipping, and a 25% restocking fee applies.

3. Damaged or Defective Items

Received something broken or not working properly? Contact us within 30 days. We’ll provide a prepaid return label and once the item is returned and inspected, we’ll issue either a full refund or a replacement.

4. Changed Your Mind?

If you no longer want the item, you can return it within 30 days — as long as it’s unused, unopened, in its original packaging, and in resellable condition.

5. Refund Processing

Once we receive and approve your return, we’ll send a confirmation email and issue a refund to your original payment method within 7 business days. Please allow additional time for banks or credit card companies to process and reflect the refund.

Product Description

Every MF Fire Nova firebox ships without a base — you choose the stance that fits your room. The 3" leg kit is the lowest-profile option, setting a Nova C or Nova 2X just three inches above the hearth pad for a compact, traditional look. It suits installs where overall height matters more than loading convenience.

Photography note: MF Fire publishes one photo set per Nova platform — the photo shows a complete Nova stove standing on its standard 3-inch legs; this listing is for the leg kit.

Key Features

Fits both Nova fireboxes. One kit works with the Nova C and the Nova 2X, in freestanding configuration only.
Lowest overall height. A Nova C on 3" legs stands 24" tall overall; a Nova 2X stands 26.5".
Traditional stance. Keeps the firebox close to the hearth for a classic profile under mantels and low sightlines.
Most affordable base option. The simplest way to complete a Nova — just plan for the hearth pad requirement below.
Thermal hearth pad required. With the firebox this close to the floor, MF Fire's manuals call for a UL 1618 listed Type 2 thermal pad (details in the table).

Choosing Your Base

Pick the 3" kit when a low, traditional profile is the priority and a thermal-rated hearth pad is no obstacle. If you would rather load wood without bending as far — and use a simpler ember-only pad — the 9" leg kit is the easier-living choice, and the 6" kit splits the difference. For built-in wood storage and a fire raised closer to eye level, look at the Nova C Tower or Nova 2X Tower. If you want seating and storage in one piece, the Nova Series Bench fits either firebox.

OffGrid Horizon is a family-owned, authorized MF Fire dealer. Register your MF Fire products to activate factory coverage — the stove's firebox welds carry MF Fire's Limited Lifetime warranty (defined as up to 7 years). Frequently Asked Questions

Will this kit fit both the Nova C and the Nova 2X?

Yes. The same 3" kit fits either firebox in a freestanding installation. It is not used for insert installations — those take the Nova C or Nova 2X insert surround instead.

What hearth pad do I need with 3" legs?

A UL 1618 listed Type 2 thermal pad. Minimum R-1.35 under a Nova C. Under a Nova 2X, R-1.35 if the stove has the cast iron ash lip, or R-2.0 without it. Taller bases relax this to an ember-only pad, which is worth weighing before you order.

How tall will the finished stove be?

24" overall for the Nova C and 26.5" overall for the Nova 2X on 3" legs.

What else do I need to complete the stove?

The firebox itself — Nova C or Nova 2X, sold separately — plus the hearth pad and venting installed per the MF Fire manual. An optional room blower fan is available for freestanding installs.

Can Nova stoves go in a mobile home?

No. Nova stoves are EPA 2020 certified and UL 1482 safety listed, but they are not approved for mobile home installation.
