Product Description

The Airpura G600 DLX is the "Plus" carbon configuration of the G600: it swaps the True HEPA for a HEPA barrier and uses the freed-up space for a bigger bed of odor-free carbon — 26 lb of German-sourced carbon versus 18 lb in the standard G600, per Airpura. Same all-metal housing, felt gaskets and sealed design, and the same purpose: filtration designed with the chemically sensitive (MCS) in mind, per Airpura, with no odor added by the unit itself. OffGrid Horizon is a family-owned authorized Airpura dealer serving the US.

Who It's For

  • Buyers whose main concern is chemical odors and VOCs rather than fine particles
  • People who notice the slight odor of standard carbon units and want the larger odor-free bed
  • Households seeking a unit designed with the chemically sensitive in mind, per Airpura, with the heavier carbon load
  • Spaces up to 2,000 sq ft with persistent chemical odors from finishes, furnishings or cleaning products

Key Features

  • 26 lb odor-free German-sourced activated carbon — the larger carbon bed in the 600-size G family, per Airpura
  • HEPA barrier filter captures 95% of airborne particles 1 micron and larger, per Airpura
  • All-metal housing emits no plastic vapors; felt gaskets instead of rubber to avoid off-gassing, per Airpura
  • Motor outside the airflow, sealed electrical chamber, pressure-sealed filter chamber, per Airpura
  • 560 CFM (free flow), variable speed, 360-degree intake and distribution; no ozone emissions
  • About $0.27 per day on medium speed 24/7, per Airpura

How the Filtration Works

  1. Poly prefilter. A vacuumable first stage catches dust and larger particles before they reach the carbon.
  2. 26 lb odor-free carbon bed. The enlarged German-sourced carbon bed gives air more dwell time for adsorbing chemical odors and VOCs, without adding any carbon smell of its own, per Airpura.
  3. HEPA barrier filter. A final stage captures 95% of particles down to 1 micron before air returns to the room.

G600 vs G600 DLX vs G614 vs G700 DLX

All four use odor-free German-sourced carbon in the same all-metal, felt-gasketed housing design. The choice comes down to carbon quantity versus particle-stage grade, and room size.

Model Carbon Particle stage Airflow / Coverage
G600 18 lb True HEPA, 99.97% at 0.3 micron 560 CFM / 2,000 sq ft
G600 DLX (this unit) 26 lb HEPA barrier, 95% at 1 micron 560 CFM / 2,000 sq ft
G614 18 lb Super HEPA H14, 99.99% at 0.3 micron 560 CFM / 2,000 sq ft
G700 DLX 26 lb HEPA barrier, 95% at 1 micron 635 CFM / 2,500 sq ft

Filter Replacements

Per Airpura: poly prefilter about every 12 months (vacuumable in between), carbon about every 24 months, HEPA barrier about every 12 months. Keep spares on hand with the G600 / G614 / G600 DLX replacement filter bundle and the poly prefilter pack for the 600/700 series.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does DLX add over the standard G600?

More carbon, different particle stage. Per Airpura, the DLX carries 26 lb of odor-free German-sourced carbon versus 18 lb, and pairs it with a HEPA barrier (95% at 1 micron) instead of the True HEPA (99.97% at 0.3 micron). It shifts the unit's emphasis toward gas and odor adsorption.

Should I pick the G600 DLX or the G600?

If chemical odors and VOCs are the main issue, the DLX's larger carbon bed is the configuration Airpura designates for that. If fine particles — pollen, dander, dust — matter as much as odors, the G600 or G614 with their 0.3 micron HEPA stages may fit better.

Does the unit itself give off any odor?

Per Airpura, no added scents and no odor from the carbon: the German-sourced carbon is selected because it has no odor, the housing is all metal so no plastic vapors are emitted, and gaskets are felt rather than rubber.

Can it help with my chemical sensitivity?

We don't make health or treatment claims — the G600 DLX is not a medical device. Airpura's published position is that the G series is designed with the chemically sensitive in mind through odor-free carbon and inert materials. For personal health questions, please talk with your clinician; for spec questions, call us.

How long do the filters last?

Per Airpura: carbon about 24 months, HEPA barrier about 12 months, poly prefilter about 12 months with vacuuming in between.

Is it quiet?

Airpura lists 25 dB on low at 6 ft and 61 dB on high, with a variable speed dial in between.
