Product Description

The Airpura I700 is the HEPA-focused model in Airpura's 700 series. Instead of splitting the chassis between a carbon bed and a standard HEPA filter, it dedicates the space to more than 100 sq ft of True HEPA media — over twice the 40 sq ft used in Airpura's other 700-series models — rated to capture 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 microns and larger. The 635 CFM fan, powder-coated steel housing, 360° intake, and casters carry over, and at 35 lb it is the lightest unit in this group. Airpura rates it for spaces up to 2,500 sq ft.

Who the I700 Is For

The I700 is for buyers whose concern is particles — dust, pollen, pet dander, smoke particles, mold spores — rather than odors or chemical vapors. Because the HEPA filter has more than double the media area of the 40 sq ft filters in the R and UV models, air meets far more filter surface on each pass, and the filter has more capacity to load before airflow drops. If household odors, VOCs, or chemical vapors are part of your picture, the R700 or R714 add an 18 lb activated carbon bed for gas-phase filtration. Not sure which fits? Key Features

  • Over 100 sq ft of True HEPA media with 3 in deep pleats — more than double the media area of Airpura's 40 sq ft filters
  • Captures 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 microns and larger, per Airpura
  • Close-ended metal filter caps to help prevent air bypass around the media, per Airpura
  • 635 CFM free-flow airflow (450 CFM with filters installed) with variable speed control
  • Optional Hi-C carbon weave available for light odor and VOC pickup
  • Powder-coated steel housing with 360° air intake and casters; 35 lb
  • 115V household power; 40 W on low, 120 W on high; no ozone emissions per Airpura

How the Filtration Works

Stage 1 — Poly prefilter. A 570 sq in poly prefilter catches larger dust, lint, and pet hair at the intake. It can be vacuumed through the grill and replaced about every 12 months.

Stage 2 — True HEPA. The main event: over 100 sq ft of pleated True HEPA media with 3 in deep folds captures 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 microns and larger. Per Airpura, close-ended metal caps on the filter help prevent leakage around the media.

Optional — Hi-C carbon weave. For light odors and VOCs, Airpura offers an optional Hi-C carbon weave that installs in the unit. It is a lighter-duty option than the 18 lb carbon beds in the R-series models.

R700 vs R714 vs I700

All three share the 635 CFM 700-series chassis and 2,500 sq ft rating; they differ in what fills the filter chamber. The R700 balances a True HEPA filter (99.97%) with an 18 lb activated carbon bed for particles plus odors and VOCs. The R714 keeps that carbon bed and upgrades the filter to Super HEPA 14 (99.99%). The I700 (this model) is the particle specialist — no bulk carbon bed, over 100 sq ft of HEPA media, and the lowest weight of the three at 35 lb. Browse the lineup in our Airpura collection.

Filter Replacements

When replacement time comes, the I-series replacement filter bundle covers the I700's filter set, and the poly prefilter pack (600/700 series) keeps the first stage fresh in between. Airpura's intervals: prefilter about 12 months, HEPA every 3–5 years, and the optional carbon weave about every 2 years if installed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the I700 produce ozone?

No. The I700 uses only mechanical filtration — a prefilter and HEPA media — with no UV lamp, ionizer, or other emitting technology, and Airpura lists its ozone emissions as none.

Why does the I700 have no carbon filter?

It is a deliberate trade. Removing the 18 lb carbon bed frees the chamber for over 100 sq ft of HEPA media. HEPA captures particles; carbon adsorbs gases and odors. If you need both, choose the R700 or R714; if particles are the goal, the I700 puts everything into that job, with an optional Hi-C carbon weave for light odors.

What does the extra HEPA media do?

More media area means air meets more filter surface at a given airflow and the filter can hold more captured particles before airflow drops — one reason Airpura quotes a 3–5 year HEPA replacement window.

What does it cost to run 24/7?

Example math: on high the I700 draws 120 W, so 24 hours uses about 2.9 kWh. At $0.17 per kWh that is roughly $0.49 per day, or about $15 per month. On low (40 W) it is about $0.16 per day. Your local rate will change these figures.

How loud is it at night?

Airpura publishes 30.2 dB on low measured at 6 ft, rising to 63.0 dB on high at the full 635 CFM. The variable speed dial lets you set a quieter level for overnight running.

How often do the filters need replacing?

Per Airpura: vacuum the prefilter regularly and replace it about every 12 months, replace the HEPA filter every 3–5 years, and the optional carbon weave about every 2 years if you use it.

Does it run on US household power?

Yes. The I700 runs on standard 115V outlets — no special wiring needed.
