Product Description

The Airpura T600 DLX is the heavy-smoke configuration of the T600 platform. Per Airpura's published sheet, it pairs the tar-trapping prefilter and HEPA barrier with a 26 lb activated and enhanced carbon filter — 17% potassium iodide, 83% coconut shell — that binds smoke chemicals faster than plain carbon. It moves up to 560 CFM and covers rooms up to 2,000 sq ft. OffGrid Horizon is a family-owned authorized Airpura dealer serving the US.

Who It's For

  • Rooms with daily, concentrated smoking — cigar dens, home lounges, poker rooms
  • Households where a standard carbon bed saturates too quickly
  • Hospitality smoking areas and clubs that need continuous odor and tar control
  • Buyers choosing between the T600 and DLX who expect heavy rather than occasional smoke

Key Features

  • 26 lb activated and enhanced carbon filter (17% potassium iodide / 83% coconut shell) for accelerated chemical binding, per Airpura
  • Tar Barrier prefilter (570 sq in, 1 in deep) traps tar before it reaches the carbon, per Airpura
  • HEPA barrier filter captures 95% of airborne particles 1 micron and larger, per Airpura
  • 560 CFM (free flow), variable speed, 360-degree intake and distribution
  • Powder-coated steel housing on casters; no ozone emissions
  • Adsorbs smoke odors and VOCs such as benzene, toluene and formaldehyde, per Airpura

How the Filtration Works

  1. Tar Barrier prefilter. Tar and larger smoke particles are caught first, protecting the carbon bed. Vacuumable between replacements.
  2. 26 lb enhanced carbon bed. The potassium iodide impregnation accelerates binding of tobacco smoke chemicals as air dwells in the 3 in deep bed, per Airpura.
  3. HEPA barrier filter. A final stage captures 95% of particles down to 1 micron before clean air returns to the room.

T600 vs T600 DLX vs T700 vs T700 DLX

All four share the tar-trapping prefilter, a 26 lb carbon bed and a HEPA barrier stage. The DLX versions ship with the enhanced carbon blend for heavier smoke; the 700s move more air for larger rooms.

Model Carbon Airflow Coverage
T600 26 lb coconut shell 560 CFM 2,000 sq ft
T600 DLX (this unit) 26 lb enhanced blend (17% potassium iodide / 83% coconut shell) 560 CFM 2,000 sq ft
T700 26 lb coconut shell 635 CFM 2,500 sq ft

Filter Replacements

Per Airpura, replace the Tar Barrier prefilter every 3 to 6 months under heavy smoke (6 to 12 months in lighter use), the carbon filter about every 24 months and the HEPA barrier about every 12 months — heavy smoke shortens filter life. Stock up with the T600 / T600 DLX replacement filter bundle and the poly prefilter pack for the 600/700 series.

Warranty & Support

Airpura covers the T600 DLX with a 5-year warranty on parts and a 10-year warranty on labor, per its published documentation. OffGrid Horizon is a family-owned authorized Airpura dealer — call (302) 496-3554 with sizing or filter questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does DLX mean on this model?

Per Airpura's published sheet, the T600 DLX ships with the 26 lb activated and enhanced carbon filter — 17% potassium iodide, 83% coconut shell — rather than plain coconut shell carbon. The potassium iodide accelerates the binding of smoke chemicals, which is why Airpura designates the DLX for heavy tobacco smoke.

Is the DLX worth it over the standard T600?

If smoking is daily and concentrated — a cigar den, a lounge corner, a card room — the enhanced carbon is the configuration Airpura designates for that load. For occasional smoking, the standard T600 covers the same room size with the same airflow.

How often do the filters need replacing under heavy smoke?

Per Airpura, the tar-trapping prefilter is the consumable to watch: every 3 to 6 months under heavy smoke. The carbon filter runs about 24 months and the HEPA barrier about 12 months, with heavy use shortening both.

Does it handle cigar smoke as well as cigarette smoke?

The filtration chain is the same for both: tar trapping, carbon adsorption of smoke odors and VOCs, then particle capture. Cigars produce more tar and odor volume, so expect the shorter end of the prefilter replacement range.

Is it ozone free?

Yes. The T600 DLX is purely mechanical filtration with no ozone emissions, per Airpura.

What does it cost to run?

It draws 40 W on low and 120 W on high at 115V, so continuous operation is comparable to running a ceiling fan.
