Product Description

The Airpura T600 is built for one job: pulling tobacco smoke, tar and smoke odor out of indoor air. Air passes through a tar-trapping prefilter, a 26 lb activated carbon bed and a HEPA barrier filter inside an all-steel housing, moving up to 560 CFM and covering rooms up to 2,000 sq ft. OffGrid Horizon is a family-owned authorized Airpura dealer serving the US.

Who It's For

  • Homes where someone smokes indoors and the odor lingers in walls, fabric and furniture
  • Dedicated smoking rooms, home cigar dens and card rooms
  • Hospitality spaces, offices and waiting areas that need ongoing smoke and odor control
  • Anyone who wants a serviceable, filter-based unit rather than a sealed disposable appliance

Key Features

  • Tar Barrier prefilter (570 sq in, 1 in deep) traps sticky tar before it reaches the carbon bed, per Airpura
  • 26 lb activated carbon filter, 100% coconut shell, in a 3 in deep bed for adsorbing smoke odors and VOCs such as benzene, toluene and formaldehyde, per Airpura
  • HEPA barrier filter captures 95% of airborne particles 1 micron and larger, per Airpura
  • 560 CFM (free flow) with variable fan speed and 360-degree air intake and distribution
  • Powder-coated steel housing on casters; no ozone emissions
  • Optional Super Gas carbon filter (potassium iodide impregnated) available at checkout for faster chemical binding, per Airpura

How the Filtration Works

  1. Tar Barrier prefilter. Smoke enters through the 360-degree intake and hits the tar-trapping prefilter first, which catches tar and larger particles so they never coat the carbon. It is vacuumable between replacements.
  2. 26 lb activated carbon bed. Air then dwells in a 3 in deep coconut shell carbon bed (570 sq in of surface), where smoke odors and gases from tobacco combustion are adsorbed.
  3. HEPA barrier filter. A final particle stage captures 95% of particles down to 1 micron before air returns to the room through the top outlet.

T600 vs T600 DLX vs T700 vs T700 DLX

All four tobacco-series units share the tar-trapping prefilter, a 26 lb carbon bed and a HEPA barrier particle stage. The 700s move more air for larger rooms; the DLX versions ship with Airpura's enhanced carbon blend for heavier smoke loads.

Model Carbon Airflow Coverage
T600 (this unit) 26 lb coconut shell 560 CFM 2,000 sq ft
T600 DLX 26 lb enhanced blend (17% potassium iodide / 83% coconut shell) 560 CFM 2,000 sq ft
T700 26 lb coconut shell 635 CFM 2,500 sq ft

Filter Replacements

Per Airpura, the Tar Barrier prefilter is vacuumable and typically replaced every 3 to 6 months under heavy smoke, or 6 to 12 months in lighter use — the more smoke the unit handles, the shorter its filter life. The carbon filter is rated for about 24 months and the HEPA barrier for about 12 months. Keep spares on hand with the T600 / T600 DLX replacement filter bundle and the poly prefilter pack for the 600/700 series.

Warranty & Support

Airpura covers the T600 with a 5-year warranty on parts and a 10-year warranty on labor, per its published documentation. OffGrid Horizon is a family-owned authorized Airpura dealer — call us at (302) 496-3554 for sizing help, filter questions or after-sale support.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the T600 handle cigarette odor?

Odor control comes from the 26 lb activated carbon bed, which adsorbs smoke odors and gases — including VOCs such as benzene, toluene and formaldehyde, per Airpura. The tar-trapping prefilter keeps tar from clogging the carbon so it keeps working longer.

How often will I replace filters in a smoking room?

It depends on smoke load. Per Airpura: Tar Barrier prefilter every 3 to 6 months under heavy smoke (up to 12 months in lighter use), carbon about every 24 months, HEPA barrier about every 12 months. Heavy daily smoking shortens those intervals.

What is the difference between the T600 and the T600 DLX?

Per Airpura's published sheets, the T600 DLX ships with the enhanced carbon blend (17% potassium iodide, 83% coconut shell) that binds chemicals faster, aimed at heavier smoke. The standard T600 uses 100% coconut shell carbon, with the Super Gas upgrade available as an option.

Does it produce ozone?

No. The T600 is a mechanical filtration unit with no ozone emissions, per Airpura.

Can it run 24/7?

Yes. It draws 40 W on low and 120 W on high, with a variable speed dial so you can match fan speed to how much smoke is in the room.

Is it loud?

Airpura lists 34.2 dB on low and 57.2 dB on high, measured at 6 ft. Many owners run it on high while smoking, then drop to a lower speed afterward.
