Renogy Rego 12V 104Ah Super Slim LiFePO4 battery with self-heating

Product Description

The Renogy REGO 12V 104Ah Super Slim is a 2.4-inch-thick solid-state LiFePO4 battery with built-in self-heating, Bluetooth, and an IP67 aluminum housing. It is made for installations where a conventional battery box simply does not fit: under seats, under floors, behind cab walls, and inside truck canopy systems.

Who This Battery Is For

Overlanders, 4WD tourers, truck-camper owners, and van builders who need real capacity in dead space rather than cargo space. At 22.8 x 11.4 x 2.4 in it mounts flat under a floor or upright behind a seat back, and the 8-year warranty term (per Renogy) plus 6,000-cycle rating make it a fit for vehicles you plan to keep. Self-heating means winter trips do not end your ability to recharge from the alternator or solar.

Why Renogy

Renogy is an established maker of off-grid solar and battery equipment, and publishes test and safety documentation for this battery (MSDS, UN38.3, FCC, CE, PSE, RoHS, RCM, IC, UKCA). The REGO line — batteries, inverter chargers, and monitoring — is designed as one connected system, which keeps wiring, communication, and support consistent.

Cold Weather, Explained

This battery combines two cold-weather approaches. First, self-heating: below 41°F a 150W internal heater warms the cells at roughly 50°F per hour and shuts off above 50°F, per Renogy — from -4°F, the manual estimates about two hours to reach charging temperature. Second, the BMS permits a reduced-rate charge (0.1C, about 10A) between 14°F and 32°F, so a gentle top-up is possible even before the battery is fully warm. Below those limits, protection circuits block charging entirely to prevent cell damage, and discharge cuts off at -4°F.

System Fit & Expansion

The 200A continuous discharge supports roughly 2,500W of continuous 12V inverter load — pair a single battery with loads inside that limit, or run two in parallel to feed the Renogy REGO 3000W 12V split-phase inverter charger at full output. Its CAN/RV-C communication is built for the REGO ecosystem, so battery data can flow to compatible REGO equipment and Renogy ONE Core. For solar, keep controller output within the 100A charge limit — the Renogy 800W kit with REGO 60A MPPT controller fits, and roof space permitting, the Renogy 320W N-type panel four-pack scales the array. Per Renogy the battery expands to 4S, 4P, or 4S4P; series banks change system voltage and need equipment rated for it.

Warranty & Support

Per Renogy's published warranty schedule, this model (RBT12104LFP-SSBH) carries an 8-year prorated warranty — among the longer terms in Renogy's battery line. Frequently Asked Questions

Will it really fit under a seat or floor? The case is 22.8 x 11.4 x 2.4 in — measure your cavity and allow clearance for M8 terminals and cable bend radius. Renogy sells a matching bracket kit separately for secure mounting.

Can I mix it with my other lithium batteries? No. Connect only identical REGO 104Ah Super Slim batteries of similar age and state of charge, up to 4S, 4P, or 4S4P per Renogy.

Can I charge from my vehicle's alternator? Yes, through a DC-DC charger with a LiFePO4 profile sized within the 100A max charge current. Direct alternator connection is not recommended.

What charger profile should I use? A lithium (LiFePO4) profile with a 14.4V charge voltage, per Renogy. Lead-acid and AGM profiles may not charge it fully or correctly.

How should I store it over winter? Per Renogy: disconnect it, store between -4°F and 140°F at 30-50% state of charge, and recharge at least once every 3 to 6 months.

Is it safe mounted inside the cabin? LiFePO4 batteries do not off-gas during normal operation the way flooded lead-acid batteries do, and this model adds an IP67-sealed aluminum housing. Follow the mounting and clearance guidance in the Renogy manual.

How do I check state of charge? Over Bluetooth in the Renogy app, or through the CAN ports with Renogy ONE Core for long-range and multi-device monitoring.
