Two panels cover about 56 sq ft. On a 24V battery bank, 1,180W works out to roughly 41A of charge current — a 60A-class MPPT controller with room to grow. On a 48V bank it's about 20A. Wired in series the pair produces about 105V open-circuit; in parallel, 52.63V at up to 27A of operating current — check your controller's PV voltage and current limits either way, with cold-weather margin on voltage. How do I get the bifacial gain from just two panels?

Mount them where light can reach the back: an elevated ground mount over gravel, concrete, or snow, or a tilt mount on a flat roof. Flush-mounted on a shingle roof, they perform as strong 590W monofacial panels — the rear side needs reflected light to contribute. The up-to-30% figure is Renogy's, under favorable rear-side reflection.

What size charge controller do I need?

On 24V, plan for a 60A-class MPPT controller (about 41A of charging at full output, plus headroom). On 48V, a 30A-class unit is comfortable. On 12V, 1,180W exceeds what a single common 60A controller can pass — consider 24V for this pack.

Series or parallel for two panels?

Series (about 105V Voc) keeps current low and wire small — check your controller's PV input limit with cold-weather margin. Parallel keeps voltage at 52.63V and doubles current, which tolerates partial shade on one panel better.

Can I add more 590W panels later?

Yes — this is a common starter quantity. Keep future strings the same length as your existing one, or land new strings on a separate MPPT input.

Will these work with my existing 12V panels?

Not in the same string or parallel group — the voltage difference is too large. Run each panel type on its own charge controller into the same battery bank instead.
