Product Description

This four-pack of Renogy Core Mini 12V 200Ah LiFePO4 batteries builds a 12V 800Ah (10,240Wh) lithium bank for RVs, camper vans, boats, and off-grid cabins. Each battery fits 200Ah into a case just over 15 inches long and 42.44 lb, and built-in low-temperature charge protection stops charging below freezing so cold weather cannot damage the cells.

Who This Bank Is For

This set suits full-time RVers, liveaboards, and off-grid households moving up from lead-acid or from a smaller lithium setup: enough stored energy to run a 12V refrigerator, furnace fan, lights, water pump, and an inverter for daily AC loads without constant generator time. It also fits shoulder-season campers in cold climates, since the BMS blocks charging below 32°F rather than letting a charger push current into frozen cells. If you routinely need to recharge during hard freezes, consider a Renogy self-heating model instead.

Cold Weather, Explained

These batteries use low-temperature charge protection, not heating. Charging lithium cells below freezing causes permanent damage, so below 32°F the BMS simply disconnects the charge circuit; your loads keep running because discharge is still allowed down to -4°F. Charging resumes automatically once the battery warms back above freezing. If your use case requires recharging during extended sub-freezing weather, Renogy's self-heating and DuoHeat batteries warm their own cells when a charger is connected; this model does not.

System Fit & Expansion

With all four batteries in parallel you get a 12V 800Ah bank with plenty of headroom for a 12V inverter; the Renogy REGO 3000W 12V split-phase inverter charger is a common pairing for RV and cabin AC loads. For charging, stay within 100A per battery: the Renogy 800W solar kit with REGO 60A MPPT charge controller is a matched solar input, and a DC-DC charger covers alternator charging on the road. Per Renogy, the batteries may also be wired four in series for 48V 200Ah, or expanded up to 16 batteries in a 4S4P arrangement; series banks change system voltage, so pair them only with equipment rated for that voltage. Frequently Asked Questions

Can I mix these with my older batteries? No. Build the bank only from identical Renogy 12V 200Ah Core Mini batteries of similar age and state of charge. Mixing capacities, ages, or chemistries (including lead-acid) causes imbalance and can trip BMS protections.

Can I charge from my vehicle's alternator? Yes, through a DC-DC charger with a LiFePO4 profile sized within the 100A-per-battery charge limit. Do not wire the bank directly to the alternator.

What charger profile should I use? A lithium (LiFePO4) profile within the battery's 10V to 14.6V operating range, per Renogy. Chargers set for flooded or AGM lead-acid may not charge these batteries fully or correctly.

How should I store the bank over winter? Disconnect loads and chargers, store within -4°F to 140°F at a partial state of charge, and top up periodically per the Renogy manual. The BMS protects against over-discharge, but long storage at very low charge shortens battery life.

Is it safe to install indoors or under a seat? LiFePO4 batteries do not off-gas during normal operation the way flooded lead-acid batteries do, so they are commonly installed in enclosed compartments. Follow the clearance, mounting, and temperature guidance in the Renogy manual.

Will these charge in freezing weather? Not below 32°F; the BMS blocks charging to protect the cells and resumes automatically once the battery warms above freezing. Discharge continues down to -4°F.

How do I monitor state of charge? These batteries do not include Bluetooth. Use an external shunt-based battery monitor for accurate state-of-charge readings across the whole bank.
