On a 48V battery bank, 3,540W works out to about 62A of charge current — one high-capacity MPPT controller or two mid-size units, each running its own strings. Keep series strings inside your controller's PV voltage limit: two panels in series is about 105V open-circuit, three about 158V, before cold-weather rise. Frequently Asked Questions

How do I mount these to get the rear-side gain?

Give the back of the panel access to reflected light: elevated ground mounts over gravel, sand, or snow, or tilt-mounts on flat roofs. Flush roof mounting blocks the rear side, leaving front-side output only. Renogy's up-to-30% gain figure assumes favorable rear-side reflection.

What charge controller do six 590W panels need?

On a 48V bank, plan around 62A of charge current — either one large MPPT controller or two mid-size units splitting the array. On a 24V bank the same wattage doubles to roughly 123A, so most builders step up to 48V at this array size.

How should I string them?

Short series strings (2-3 panels, 105-158V Voc) combined in parallel suit most off-grid MPPT controllers. Fuse parallel strings per the 30A max series fuse rating, and leave cold-weather voltage margin.

Will shade on one panel drag down all six?

Only its own series string. Splitting the array into two or three strings on separate MPPT inputs contains shade losses to the affected string.

Can I add more of these panels later?

Yes. Matching model numbers keeps string math simple — add panels in the same series-string lengths you already run, or add a new string on a spare controller input.

Do I need a special inverter for bifacial panels?

No. Bifacial gain arrives as ordinary extra DC power. Size your controller and wiring with headroom above the 3,540W front-side rating and the system behaves like any other array.
