This four-pack of Renogy Core Mini 12.8V 100Ah LiFePO4 batteries builds a 12V 400Ah (5,120Wh) bank out of Group 22NF-size batteries that weigh just 21.8 lb each. It suits builds where space and lifting weight matter as much as capacity: vans, teardrop trailers, boats, and modular systems you can grow one battery at a time.
Who This Bank Is For
Van and small-RV builders who want to distribute weight across several small batteries instead of wrestling one large one; anglers running trolling motors and electronics; and off-grid users who like the redundancy of four independent batteries — if one ever needs service, the other three keep working. Low-temperature charge protection blocks charging below 32°F to protect the cells, making these a fit for three-season use and heated compartments in winter.

Why Renogy
Renogy is an established maker of off-grid solar and battery equipment, and publishes test and safety documentation for this battery (MSDS, UN38.3, FCC, CE, PSE, RCM, IC, RoHS, UKCA). Its batteries, charge controllers, inverters, and monitoring hardware are specified to work together, which keeps system design and support straightforward.

Cold Weather, Explained
These batteries use low-temperature charge protection rather than heating: below 32°F the BMS disconnects the charge circuit so cold cells are not damaged, then allows charging again once the battery warms above freezing. Discharge keeps working down to -4°F, so lights and pumps stay on in the cold. If you need to recharge during sustained sub-freezing weather, Renogy's DuoHeat version of this same Group 22NF battery heats its own cells; this standard version does not.
System Fit & Expansion
All four in parallel deliver up to 400A combined, enough to feed the Renogy REGO 3000W 12V inverter charger with LCD display at full output. Keep charge sources within 100A per battery; the Renogy 800W solar kit with REGO 60A MPPT charge controller pairs well, and a DC-DC charger covers alternator charging. Per Renogy the batteries support series strings up to 48V and expansion to 16 units (4S4P, 20.48kWh); series banks require equipment rated for the higher voltage. Cables, panels, and monitors are in our Renogy collection.
Warranty & Support
Per Renogy, each battery carries a 5-year prorated material and workmanship warranty. OffGrid Horizon is a family-owned authorized Renogy dealer, so purchases here are eligible for Renogy US warranty service. Questions before or after the sale: (302) 496-3554.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I mix these with my older batteries? No. Build the bank only from identical Core Mini 100Ah batteries of similar age and state of charge. Mixing capacities, ages, or chemistries causes imbalance.
Can I start with two and add the other two later? Renogy recommends paralleling identical batteries of similar age and charge state, so it is best to commission all four together. If you expand later, match state of charge before connecting and keep the 4S4P limit.
Can I charge from my vehicle's alternator? Yes, through a DC-DC charger with a LiFePO4 profile sized within 100A per battery. Do not wire directly to the alternator.
What charger profile should I use? A lithium (LiFePO4) profile per the Renogy manual. Chargers set for flooded or AGM lead-acid may not charge these batteries fully or correctly.
How should I store them over winter? Disconnect loads and chargers, store at a partial state of charge, and top up periodically per the Renogy manual. Avoid leaving them deeply discharged for long periods.
Is it safe to install them indoors or under a seat? LiFePO4 batteries do not off-gas during normal operation the way flooded lead-acid batteries do, so enclosed compartments are common installs. Follow the Renogy manual's mounting, clearance, and temperature guidance.
How do I monitor state of charge? Add the Renogy 300A Battery Shunt (sold separately) at the bank negative, or any quality shunt-based monitor; there is no built-in Bluetooth.
