Product Description

The Airpura UV700 pairs the four-stage germs-and-mold filtration stack — poly prefilter, 18 lb activated carbon bed, 40 sq ft True HEPA filter, and an internal 16–18 watt UVC germicidal lamp — with Airpura's stronger 700-series chassis. The fan moves 635 CFM in free flow (450 CFM with filters installed, per Airpura's performance sheet), and Airpura rates the unit for spaces up to 2,500 sq ft. The housing is powder-coated steel with a 360° air intake and casters.

Who the UV700 Is For

Choose the UV700 when you want the HEPA-plus-carbon-plus-UV configuration but have more space to cover than the 600-series units handle — open floor plans, great rooms, or larger basements. Airpura's 2,500 sq ft rating assumes 8 ft ceilings and two air changes per hour. If your space is under roughly 2,000 sq ft, the UV600 offers the same filtration stack in a 560 CFM chassis. If you want a higher-efficiency particle filter in this chassis, see the UV714. Still weighing options? Read Which Airpura Is Right for You.

Key Features

  • 700-series fan delivers 635 CFM free flow — 450 CFM with filters installed, per Airpura
  • 40 sq ft True HEPA filter captures 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 microns and larger
  • 18 lb of 100% coconut-shell activated carbon in a 2 in deep bed adsorbs odors, VOCs, and chemical vapors
  • 16–18 W UVC germicidal lamp mounted inside the filter chamber, out of sight of the room
  • Powder-coated steel housing with 360° air intake and caster wheels
  • 115V household power; 40 W on low, 120 W on high
  • No ozone emissions, per Airpura's published specifications

How the Filtration Works

Stage 1 — Poly prefilter. A 570 sq in poly prefilter catches larger dust, lint, and pet hair at the intake; vacuum it through the grill between annual replacements.

Stage 2 — Activated carbon. Air passes through 18 lb of coconut-shell activated carbon in a 2 in deep bed, which adsorbs odor, VOC, and gas molecules. An impregnated carbon option is available from Airpura for enhanced chemical adsorption.

Stage 3 — True HEPA. The 40 sq ft pleated HEPA filter captures 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 microns and larger — dust, pollen, pet dander, smoke particles, and mold spores among them.

Stage 4 — UVC lamp. An 18 W UVC germicidal lamp (Airpura lists a 16–18 W range) sits fully enclosed inside the filter chamber as an added stage acting on what the filters trap, per Airpura.

UV600 vs UV614 vs UV700 vs UV714

All four Airpura UV models share the same stack — prefilter, 18 lb carbon, HEPA, internal UVC lamp — and differ by chassis and filter grade. The UV600 and UV614 use the 560 CFM 600-series chassis rated 2,000 sq ft, with True HEPA and Super HEPA filters respectively. The UV700 (this model) brings the 635 CFM chassis and 2,500 sq ft rating with True HEPA, and the UV714 adds the Super HEPA 14 filter (99.99% at 0.3 microns) to this same chassis. Compare the whole family in our Airpura collection.

Filter Replacements

The UV700 uses the same filter set as Airpura's other UV models — the UV replacement filter bundle covers the carbon and HEPA stages, and the poly prefilter pack (600/700 series) handles stage one. Airpura's intervals: prefilter about 12 months, carbon about 24 months, HEPA every 3–5 years, UV lamp every 18–24 months.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the UV lamp produce ozone?

Airpura's published specifications list ozone emissions as none for the UV700, and the UVC lamp operates fully enclosed inside the filter chamber rather than open to the room.

What is the difference between the UV700 and UV600?

The chassis. The UV700's fan moves 635 CFM versus 560 CFM, and Airpura rates it for 2,500 sq ft versus 2,000 sq ft. The filter stack — prefilter, 18 lb carbon, 40 sq ft True HEPA, UVC lamp — is the same.

What does it cost to run 24/7?

Example math: on high the UV700 draws 120 W, so 24 hours uses about 2.9 kWh. At $0.17 per kWh that is roughly $0.49 per day, or about $15 per month. On low (40 W) it is about $0.16 per day. Your local rate will change these figures.

How loud is it at night?

Airpura publishes 30.2 dB on low measured at 6 ft, rising to 63.0 dB on high at the full 635 CFM. The variable speed dial lets you find a middle setting for overnight running.

How often do the filters need replacing?

Per Airpura: vacuum the prefilter regularly and replace it about every 12 months, replace the carbon bed about every 24 months, the HEPA filter every 3–5 years, and the UV lamp every 18–24 months.

Does it run on US household power?

Yes. The UV700 runs on standard 115V outlets — no special wiring needed.

Can I move it between rooms?

Yes. The unit rolls on casters and weighs 42 lb, so it moves between rooms on one level without lifting.
