Product Description

The Airpura UV600 is a whole-room air purifier that combines three filter stages — a poly prefilter, an 18 lb activated carbon bed, and a 40 sq ft True HEPA filter rated to capture 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 microns and larger — with a 16–18 watt UVC germicidal lamp mounted inside the filter chamber. Built on Airpura's 600-series chassis with a powder-coated steel housing, 360° air intake, and casters, it moves up to 560 CFM and is rated by Airpura for spaces up to 2,000 sq ft.

Who the UV600 Is For

Airpura positions the UV600 as the germs-and-mold model in its 600 series. It fits households that want full-size HEPA and carbon filtration plus an internal UV stage — for example, homes in damp climates, finished basements, or rooms where musty odors keep coming back. The 2,000 sq ft rating (8 ft ceilings, two air changes per hour, per Airpura) covers most open-plan main floors. If you need more airflow for a larger space, the UV700 steps up to 635 CFM; if you want a higher-efficiency filter in this same chassis, see the UV614. Undecided? Key Features

  • 40 sq ft True HEPA filter captures 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 microns and larger, per Airpura
  • 18 lb of 100% coconut-shell activated carbon in a 2 in deep bed adsorbs odors, VOCs, and chemical vapors
  • 16–18 W UVC germicidal lamp inside the filter chamber — Airpura states it "provides an added level of protection against pathogens trapped on the HEPA"
  • 560 CFM free-flow airflow with variable fan speed control
  • Powder-coated steel housing with 360° air intake and caster wheels
  • Runs on standard 115V household power, drawing 40 W on low and 120 W on high
  • No ozone emissions, per Airpura's published specifications

How the Filtration Works

Stage 1 — Poly prefilter. The intake prefilter traps larger dust, lint, and pet hair before they reach the inner filters. It can be vacuumed through the intake grill between replacements.

Stage 2 — Activated carbon. Air then passes through 18 lb of coconut-shell activated carbon, which adsorbs odor, VOC, and gas molecules that particle filters cannot capture.

Stage 3 — True HEPA. The 40 sq ft pleated HEPA filter captures 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 microns and larger — dust, pollen, pet dander, smoke particles, and mold spores among them.

Stage 4 — UVC lamp. A 16–18 W UVC germicidal lamp sits fully enclosed inside the filter chamber. Per Airpura, it provides an added level of protection against pathogens trapped on the HEPA filter.

UV600 vs UV614 vs UV700 vs UV714

All four Airpura UV models share the same layout: prefilter, 18 lb carbon bed, HEPA filter, and an internal UVC lamp. The differences are chassis and filter grade. The UV600 (this model) uses the 600-series chassis — 560 CFM, rated 2,000 sq ft — with a True HEPA filter. The UV614 keeps the same chassis but upgrades to a Super HEPA 14 filter rated 99.99% at 0.3 microns. The UV700 moves to the 700-series chassis with 635 CFM and a 2,500 sq ft rating, and the UV714 pairs that larger chassis with the Super HEPA filter. Browse the full lineup in our Airpura collection.

Filter Replacements

When service time comes, the UV600/UV614 replacement filter bundle covers the carbon and HEPA stages in one order, and the poly prefilter pack keeps stage one fresh in between. Airpura's intervals: prefilter about 12 months, carbon about 24 months, HEPA every 3–5 years, UV lamp every 18–24 months.

Warranty & Support

Airpura backs the UV600 with a 5-year parts warranty and a 10-year labor warranty for residential use (filters, UV lamps, and power plugs are consumables and excluded). OffGrid Horizon is a family-owned authorized Airpura dealer, so units purchased here carry the full manufacturer warranty. Questions before or after purchase? Call us at (302) 496-3554.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the UV lamp produce ozone?

Airpura's published specifications list ozone emissions as none for the UV600, and the UVC lamp operates fully enclosed inside the filter chamber rather than open to the room.

What does the UV lamp actually do?

Airpura states that the 16–18 W UVC germicidal lamp "provides an added level of protection against pathogens trapped on the HEPA." We repeat only Airpura's published description — the lamp supplements the HEPA and carbon stages rather than replacing them.

What does it cost to run 24/7?

Example math: on high the UV600 draws 120 W, so 24 hours uses about 2.9 kWh. At $0.17 per kWh that is roughly $0.49 per day, or about $15 per month. On low (40 W) it is about $0.16 per day. Your local electricity rate will change these figures.

Is it quiet enough to run at night?

Airpura publishes 28.1 dB on low measured at 6 ft, rising to 62.3 dB on high at the full 560 CFM. A common pattern is running high while the room is unoccupied and dropping to low overnight.

How often do the filters need replacing?

Per Airpura: vacuum the prefilter regularly and replace it about every 12 months, replace the carbon bed about every 24 months, the HEPA filter every 3–5 years, and the UV lamp every 18–24 months.

Does it run on US household power?

Yes. The UV600 runs on standard 115V outlets with a regular plug — no special wiring needed.

Can I upgrade the filter later?

Yes. Airpura offers a Super HEPA 14 filter (99.99% at 0.3 microns) that fits the 600-series chassis, so a UV600 can be stepped up at replacement time — or you can start with the UV614, which includes it from the factory.
